This sounds like a lot, but A: Much of it was water-damaged by that time the roof collapsed several years back, and B: 1/3rd of a shitload leaves behind 2/3rds whoamygawd why do we have this much crap.
So as long as we were reshelving and stuff, I thought... Hey! Let's catalog all the books we still have! That way, we'll know what gaps in series and whatnot we've got, and we can uhm buy more books WE ARE SO BAD AT THIS YOU GUYS.
Anyway. That collection is now done, and it's visible on Goodreads. I started to import it to Librarything and Librarything was like "WHOA HEY FREE ACCOUNTS CAN'T HAVE THAT MANY BOOKS" and I was like "Well we do, so fuck you." and deleted my account.
I have marked them ALL "to read" because I don't remember what's read and what's unread, and I KNOW I haven't read any of the BF's ASTOUNDING COLLECTION of books that all have blurbs like "blah blah blah WOLVES blah PSYCHIC LINK blah POLITICS!" and he has this whole Orson Scott Card collection, which I find only marginally less objectionable than the SLEW OF GARFIELD HOLY GOD WHO OWNS THAT MANY, and in the meanwhile I find that I don't own NEAR as many books with dragons on the cover as I thought so I need to get out to a bookstore and GET ON THAT.
Anyway 2x combo.
Maybe I'll do some kinda thing where I pick a book at random and read it and write a mini-review or something here, although I DOUBT IT because I am still in a nervous mood all the time because of REASONS and augh fuck I just want this situation RESOLVED and it has dragged on for like a MONTH of stress headaches and...
Hey. Look. Books. Anyone wanna comment on the books? *sigh* I was surprised it wouldn't / couldn't find some of the more obscure bits, like his weird "Basic/Advanced D&D" rulebooks. Also the amount of duplicates we threw out was like... How did we not NOTICE having three of the same book, at times? Oh well. We are like that. Derp derp derp.
[EDIT-DERP] *faceslap* THE EBOOKS. WE FORGOT THE EBOOKS. ... Well ... we'll go through the Nook and stuff later. *collapse*
