Aaugh, we've hit that damn spot every group of people who want to maintain a group presence does at some point, which is "What do we call ourselves, collectively?" Since my suggestion of naming the group "Steve" (guild ranks: "Steve", "The Stevettes") was rather rapidly discarded, I've decided to lay out a list of what's been suggested and ponder it.
Tri-State Eorzean All-Stars (or just "Tri-Stars" for short. A perfectly good Final Fantasy reference. Actually, "Celestriad" is good too.)
Anthroforce! (Which has a real "The Aquabats!" style to it)
The Pink Beyond (a reference to my blog title. Curiously, most of the group seems to dislike pink. The Xyzzyian Beyond, perhaps?)
Everything Explodes Forever (possibly also the guild motto, if "Kill It, Loot It" isn't. Alternatively: "Loot Is Progress".)
Neko Sentai Miqo'terangers! (Well. One of our group is a sentient potato... er, Lalafell and one is an elf, but the rest are cats. The other two can be honorary cats. My real problem here is that "Neko Sentai" is a, er, FFXI/FFXIV porn board. Oops. Maybe something else? Tonberry Sentai Doomrangers? I am the only melee character in the group so far. Range-rangers?)
...That's it, so far. I'm still... working on it? I dunno. We'll hash something out, and I'll add more later if anyone thinks of any.
Meanwhile, I have been tanking all the dungeons. How the hell do people who "Really" play tanks in MMOs DO this all the time? It's like... you have to keep EVERYTHING focused on you. I understand it intellectually, and I've been told I'm doing okay, but instead of neat little "I hit them and they turn to me so the party can slaughter everything", I feel instead like it's a process of juggling cats, and the cats are on fire, and sometimes the cats attempt to juggle SMALLER cats, and also periodically new cats leap in.
And then everything explodes. Forever.
Oh well. We're on Goblin, if anyone else I know is playing, we'd happily have you. I seem to be... socializing. It's a weird feeling and has left me twitching in panic more than once, but... seems worth it? So far.
