But as stated, I was depressed so I spent most of my time curled up in bed with Azumanga Daioh: The Omnibus. A largely plotless work, we follow a group of schoolgirls and their teachers through their high school career. Most people have heard of this thanks to "Osaka", the lateral-thinking prodigy, but all the girls are strong and well-developed characters.
(My personal favorite is Yomi. It takes a special touch to be the straight man in a piece like this, and she performs perfectly. Even if it's just showing up in the background to make a "what the hell did I walk in on" face.)
This IS basically Ultimate Relaxation Material. Eight panels per page, two jokes (at least). A relentless barrage of light goofiness.
Will I read it again? Absolutely.
