In my case, I've long been a solo player in MMOs. I strongly avoided all group content, ignored all dungeons and whatnot. Worked around them if I could, quit the game if I couldn't. I generally hate playing games with other people. I hate feeling dependent on others, I hate making others depend on me. So I played Final Fantasy XIV and found myself actually -enjoying- the group stuff... and promptly formed a group of people I care about to team up and push through the dungeons.
I did this on the assumption that everyone I knew pretty much agreed with me: Group content is terrible bullshit, so let's just get through this and we can all go back to doing stuff we actually enjoy, with that ridiculous group ordeal behind us.
So the one complaint I didn't expect is that there's not enough to do as a group, that we're not teaming up enough, that there aren't more dungeon and non-dungeon things to do with the other people in the Free Company.
I have absolutely no idea how to adjudicate this. I just thought I'd write down my utter bafflement for reference, because this is the single thing I never saw coming in a thousand years.
